Distraction

Here's a portrait I made a month or so ago of myself and a guy who is capable of driving me to distraction. I also took some photos of him while he was sleeping, but they didn't come out quite the way I wanted.

This week my brother is getting married and I turn forty years old, and I'm going out of the country over this coming holiday weekend.

  1. Curious, I can't figure out why you posted this photo--is it to be biographical or is it artistic? I'm asking from a critical perspective. As bio, it offers a lot of information. As artistic, it's so different from the other images I've seen here of your work, so the context is surprising. It may just be that I don't know you work--which I don't.

Happy Birthday. 40s are great! Really.

  2. Hi Joseph,
Here I was just fooling around. Which is good to do. You never know what might result from it..
I do struggle with how much to reveal on the blog, and in general I'm pretty cautious about more personal content..but there are exceptions!
    Thanks for the birthday wishes!

  3. Yeah, I have the same issues, and especially with client content--what to reveal, etc.

And hey, I take pictures of myself ALL THE TIME, so I understand that.

  4. You know, I find it a lovely shot - your sneakers, and the light on your shoulder...
