Esko Mannikko
I've been taking one full day per month to go see as many art shows as I can possibly stand one after another. I have to take notes because by the end of the day it all runs together in a blur. On this last week's blitz I saw this great show of Esko Mannikko's work at Yancy Richardson. Though Yancy Richardson is not exactly off the beaten path, it is still one of my favorite spots for contemporary photography in New York city. The prints by Esko Mannikko are framed with a heavy dark wood that creates a fence-like effect that you can imagine you'd find where these animals are kept.
Untitled, from the series Harmony Sisters
